Ponto

Hello everyone,

I’ll have to take a break from some Ponto related activities for about 6 weeks because, I’ll be having surgery. I didn’t expect I would get my date so quickly but here we are. I also want to talk about this because it’s a common issue that affects about 70% of women. It’s usually no cause for concern but can get be problematic in some cases… So about a year ago, I started experiencing weird back pain. I brushed it off thinking it was just a pulled muscle or related to poor posture. The pain would come and go but after a few months it was almost 24/7. I went to see the doctor and was told that it was part of getting old, that I should just exercise more. She referred me to the clinic’s OBGYN for an unrelated test. I went to my appointment thinking it would be just a routine test but no! She told me right away that I have fibroids. Turns out these are benign tumors growing in and outside of the uterus and it’s not clear why this happens. After some more tests, I was told that I have 3: two are about the size of grapefruits! I did not experience the common symptoms but, the doctor said that these masses were pushing on my organs and most likely causing my back pain. Anyways, I ll be getting rid of them next week but it will be a long recovery so that’s why I’ll be taking a break and slowing things down!

Here’s what it means for Ponto:

– I’ll be keeping my shop open if you guys want to support me while I recover, but please note that pickup and shipping will be suspended on April 2nd and resume around May 18th.

– No webcomic until I feel comfortable enough to draw for long periods of time.

– Less posting, but I’ll be sharing my journey through Ponto as I get better.

– Maybe more spontaneous illustrations since I won’t be able to go out much
